Is there a minimum or maximum amount of people for the tour?
The minimum and maximum number of guests on a tour vary with the type of tour. For the Downtown Cairo Food Tour, the minimum group size is 2 and the maximum is 7, although we can accommodate larger private groups.

CAN CHILDREN JOIN THE GROUP TOUR?
Yes, the tour is open to everyone, although going private might be better value for families with children.
Spots for children 6-12 are capped at 2 per group tour, while spots for children 5 and under are capped at 1. The tour is designed for adults, so only you as a parent will know if your child will enjoy being part of a group or not.
What if i only have 3 hours available?
We offer a short version of the tour that covers 6 stops instead of 8-10. Please contact us to request it and receive all the details.
Are reservations required for all your tours?
Yes, unless stated otherwise, you must book online in advance to receive the full details.
Where can I browse the tours you’re offering?

How can I pay for a tour?
You will be asked to pay online using your credit card as you book a tour. All our online payments are securely handled by Trekksoft in Switzerland.
How can I get to the meeting point?
Uber is very popular in Egypt and many travelers use it to move around the city, we can also provide you with a number for a driving service that we have used in the past and absolutely trust.
How long is the DOWNTOWN CAIRO FOOD tour and is there a lot of walking?
The tour takes anywhere between 4-5 hours depending on the pace of the guests. It is a complete walking tour and includes about 3.5 KM/2 Miles of walking, but almost all the food stops are seated stops so you will get a chance to sit down and get plenty of rest.
Where does the tour end?
The tour ends 1.2 KM/0.75 Miles away from Tahrir, it’s a 15-minute easy and safe walk. Your guide will be happy to help you figure out your ride back to your hotel.
can i book a tour and pay on the day?
Because spots are guaranteed, we are not able to accept payments on the day. A booking can only be confirmed when payment is done online. We have a full online booking system, you can pay securely using your credit card.

Can I get a refund if I don’t show up for a tour?
No, you cannot get refunded after a tour happens.
What is your refund policy?
100% refund if you cancel 3 days (72 hours) before the tour’s start time.
50% refund if you cancel 1 day (24 hours) before the tour’s start time.
No refund if you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour’s start time.
Please note that transaction fees are non-refundable. Ask us about a date-exchange.
How do I insure my booking?
We currently do not offer an insurance option.
How do I cancel a booking?
Please visit our Get in Touch page and select cancellations and refunds, send us your booking number and name. We will issue a refund based on the date based on our refund policy.
Do you offer private tours, or do I have to join a group?
Yes, you can book a private tour here.

tour can fully be enjoyed if you choose:
No alcohol, no beef, no fish, halal, no nuts, no pork, no seafood, shellfish allergy, kosher, soy allergy
tour can be enjoyed with minimal changes if you choose:
No poultry, vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerance, egg allergy, bean allergy
in the case of:
Gluten/wheat intolerance, garlic & onion allergies, raw diets
You can still join your friends and enjoy the tour, but there will be several dishes to skip.
Gourmet Egypt offer lots of gluten-free crackers you can bring to the tour.
are your tours wheelchair/stroller accessible?
Although we cannot control and fix the streets of the city, we would still be happy to accommodate everyone if they are willing to maneuver some difficult streets and sidewalks. We have to admit that it is not easy and will require a sense of adventure and skill.
We recommend booking a private tour for your peace of mind and comfort.

So far, we offer tours in English and Arabic. We hope to expand our language offerings in the future.
Do you sell any food products?
No, we do not sell any food products of our own, we only plan experiences that are food focused, so they might include restaurant meals and such.
