Is there a minimum or maximum amount of people for the tour?

The minimum number of people in a group tour is 1 guest, and the maximum number is 7 guests to ensure an intimate and fun experience. For private tours the maximum number of guests is 10 people. We usually cap our group tours at 6 guests, but allow an oversell of 1 if requested.

What time does the Downtown cairo food tour start?

Please note that the start times vary depending on the season and tour type. The details are highlighted in the table below.

CAN CHILDREN JOIN THE GROUP TOUR?

We ask that all families with children under 17 book private tours because our group tours are kept small, meaning everyone has to pay a full ticket.

A private tour is better value for money since all children under 12 join for free and children between 12-17 join for 1/2 price, these prices can only be applied to private tours.

What if i only have 3 hours available?

We offer a short version of the tour that covers 5 stops instead of 8. Please contact us to request it and receive all the details.

Are reservations required for all your tours?

Yes, unless stated otherwise, you must book online in advance to receive the full details.

Where can I browse the tours you’re offering?

You can find all our current tours on our website www.belliesenroute.com under Book A Tour.

How can I pay for a tour?

You will be asked to pay online using your credit card as you book a tour. All our online payments are handled by EzTix Event Ticketing.

How can I get to the meeting point?

Uber and Careem are very popular in Egypt and many travelers use them to move around the city, we can also provide you with a number for a driving service that we have used in the past and absolutely trust.

How long is the DOWNTOWN CAIRO FOOD tour and is there a lot of walking?

The tour takes anywhere between 4-5 hours depending on the pace of the guests. It is a complete walking tour and includes about 3.5 KM/2 Miles of walking, but almost all the food stops are seated stops so you will get a chance to sit down and get plenty of rest.

Where does the tour end?

The tour ends 1.2 KM/0.75 Miles away from Tahrir, it’s a 15-minute easy and safe walk.

can i book a tour and pay on the day?

Because spots are guaranteed, we are not able to accept payments on the day. A booking can only be confirmed when payment is done online. We have a full online booking system, you can pay securely using your credit card.

Can I get a refund if I don’t show up for a tour?

No, you cannot get refunded after a tour happens. 

What is your refund policy?

If you cancel 3 weeks or more before the tour, you get 100% of your money back, after this, we do not offer refunds as your spots are guaranteed. If you’re unsure about your booking dates, we would be happy to offer you a date exchange based on availability. You will also get a chance to insure your booking upon checkout by paying a small fee and receiving a full ticket refund if you cancel before the tour.

Please note that this only applies to tours booked after August 1st, 2019 our old refund policy applies to any tour booked before that date based on the disclaimer shared before booking.

How do I insure my booking?

Upon checkout, you will have the option to select insurance as an add-on on your ticket.

How do I cancel a booking?

If your ticket is insured, please contact Ticket Guardian via your booking confirmation email before the tour.

If your ticket is not insured, and it’s at least 3 weeks before the tour’s date, please visit our Get in Touch page and select cancellations and refunds, send us your booking number and name.

If your ticket is not insured and it’s less than 3 weeks before the tour’s date, please note that we cannot offer a refund as per our refund policy highlighted above.

Do you offer private tours, or do I have to join a group?

Yes, you can book a private tour by following the link in our booking page saying, “Family with children/teens under 17? Please click here to book a private tour.”

tour can fully be enjoyed if you choose:

No alcohol, no beef, no fish, halal, no nuts, no pork, no seafood, shellfish allergy, kosher, soy allergy

tour can be enjoyed with minimal changes if you choose:

No poultry, vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerance, egg allergy, bean allergy

tour will not be suitable for guests with/on:

Gluten/wheat intolerance, garlic & onion allergies, raw diets


are your tours wheelchair/stroller accessible?

Although we cannot control and fix the streets of the city, we would still be happy to accommodate everyone if they are willing to maneuver some difficult streets and sidewalks. We have to admit that it is not easy and will require a sense of adventure and skill.

Families with children under 17 are asked to book a private tour.

We offer food-themed experiences for travelers visiting Cairo. Right now we only offer the Downtown Cairo food tour.

No, Bellies En-Route is 100% Egyptian. The idea was inspired by many worldwide food tour operators, however, the brand and all execution is fully Egyptian.

WHAT LANGUAGES ARE THE TOURS GUIDED IN?

So far, we offer tours in English, Arabic. We hope to expand our language offerings in the future.

Do you sell any food products?

No, we do not sell any food products of our own, we only plan trips that are food focused, so they might include restaurant meals and such.
