Job DESCRIPTION
As a hostess, you will play an important role in allowing guests to connect with the lives and traditions of the women in Downtown Cairo, showcasing, through food, the rich Egyptian culture by opening your home to our guests for a unique home visit experience. This home visit will be focusing on giving Downtown Cairo women a space to share not only their food but also their stories!

The Ideal Candidate
This position is only open to women who have been residing in Egypt for at least 5 years and are not planning to move out soon.
We are looking for women from various ethnic and religious backgrounds, so all nationalities are welcome to apply.
Must reside in Downtown.
Open your home to our tour participants, offering them a warm and authentic experience of Egyptian hospitality.
Prepare and share small portions of traditional dishes, snacks, or drinks that highlight the culinary traditions of your culture.
Ensure a friendly and inviting environment that encourages guests to engage in conversation and enjoy the immersive experience.
A passion for hosting and creating memorable experiences for guests.
This role requires someone who can communicate in English, Arabic, or both.

Before you apply
There are a few things you need to know before you apply for this role:
This is a paid opportunity and the salary will be determined based on an agreement between Bellies en-route and the hostess.
There is no need for advanced culinary skills because you will be making your favourite/daily dishes, snacks, or drinks.
The duration of the home visit will be 30 minutes maximum.
The number of guests you’ll be hosting will range between 1 to 7 people depending on the tour’s size. This is relevant to change based on the agreement with the hostess.
Freelancing in the tourism industry is seasonal. We are not obliged to provide a consistent flow of opportunities if you’re hired for this position.

Is this position open for everyone?
Unfortunately, this position is only open to women living in Downtown Cairo. Therefore, neither men nor individuals living outside the Downtown area can apply.
I work a full-time job and I don’t have flexible work hours, can I still apply?
This position is open to all women who meet the criteria regardless of their work status. If you can host guests at least 2 times a month, or on Fridays and Saturdays, you can still apply.
Do I have to be a professional chef or work in the catering industry to apply?
No, you don’t need to be a chef or a caterer to apply for this position. In this position, you’ll have the freedom to serve guests small portions of anything you like to make at home, or even buy from a place nearby your home!
Is this role limited to a certain age?
Whatever your age you can apply for this position, as long as you have a story you want to share!
Is this position open for certain nationalities?
We encourage women from all nationalities and backgrounds, who currently live in downtown Cairo and meet the other criteria to apply to this role.
Do I need to serve an Egyptian dish?
No, you can serve any dish/beverage from anywhere worldwide.
