support food tour guide (SPANISH)

Apply before SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2024

We’re looking for Spanish-speaking individuals to join our support team of food tour guides. If you have an upbeat personality, appreciate food and know Cairo better than the back of your hand, read on!

THE job IN A NUTSHELL

You will be taking guests from around the world on our food tours, telling them about the city, history, and food, and answering their questions about local life. A typical tour requires each guide to meet the guests, keep them safe, manage payments with our vendors, track expenses, take photos, and bring their big personalities amongst other responsibilities.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Speaks fluent Spanish and Arabic (if you also speak English, Italian or German, that’s a plus).

  • Is passionate about food and culture, and of course, Cairo!

  • Can handle flexible (unconventional) hours on all days of the week once committed to a tour.

  • Is exceptionally punctual, especially in Cairo’s traffic.

  • Has an upbeat personality and loves to be around people.

  • Is quick on their feet, and can solve unexpected challenges with a snap of a finger.

  • Is honest, respectful, presentable and reliable.

  2. That’s it! Regardless of the results, you’ll hear from us in 7-10 working days.

  3. Individuals who pass the first round will be invited to an interview.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

There are a few things we want you to know before you apply for this ROLE:

  1. We only process applications through the “Apply Now” button below. Any applications received via social media, email, or any other forms will be disregarded without notice.

  2. This role requires joining a training program before being assigned to tours. Individuals who make it through the first interview will be informed about the details of the training.

  3. Our support team guides must be available for at least 5 tours a month, if your schedule doesn’t have that flexibility, it’s highly unlikely for us to consider your application for this position.

  4. This role requires locals who were born and (mostly) raised in Cairo. We are currently not considering non-Egyptians for this role.

  5. Freelancing in the tourism industry is seasonal. We are not obliged to provide a consistent flow of opportunities if you’re hired for this position.

  6. Please refer to the FAQ section if you have any questions.
