In this experience, your guests will Join a seasoned local home cook for a hands-on Egyptian culinary adventure, beginning with a visit to a bustling market to select fresh ingredients for a classic breakfast.
Back in the kitchen, they will learn to make authentic taamiya (falafel) from scratch while learning about Egyptian cheeses, basterma, and tehina.
End the experience by enjoying the delicious feast they created that captures the warmth and togetherness of late Egyptian family morning.

How to prepare
your guests
To ensure your guests have the best experience, you can share the following tips with them:
We recommend that guests wear comfortable (closed-toe) shoes to enjoy the market walk with maximum comfort.
On the day of the tour, we highly suggest guests skip breakfast so they can enjoy the wide variety of food on the tour to the fullest. We guarantee that the guests will be full and satisfied at the end of the tour.
Allergies
To accommodate all traveller’ preferences, we have designed our classes in a way that can be modified for different needs. Kindly refer to the following information to help your guests get the safest experience on their food tour.
We strongly recommend specifically asking your guests if they have any allergies and how severe they are before booking.
For vegetarians we remove the basterma. As for the eggs, it depends on whether the guests consume eggs or not. If not, guests will be offered something else to replace the eggs and basterma.
Vegetarians
The eggs and basterma dish is completely removed and replaced with something else. We also make sure to get feteer made without ghee for the vegan guests to enjoy.
Vegan
Egyptian cuisine is very heavy on bread, so we make modifications to keep GF guests safe, although we urge you to notify us if cross-contamination could pose a threat to our guests’ well being.
We will provide Gluten-free bread for the GF guests to be able to enjoy it with the rest of the food.
Gluten-free
This allergy is a simple one to handle and lactose intolerant guests can enjoy the class comfortably. We will make a few adjustments by avoiding the cheese dips and making sure to cook with oil instead of ghee. Guests will be offered something else to replace the cheese dips.
Lactose Intolerance
There is no cause for concern regarding nut allergies.

Our tours do not include any pork products. Foods that are not considered halal are not common in Egypt since the majority of the population is Muslim, and animals are butchered according to Muslim practices.
